Spring may not be in the air quite yet, but we’re choosing to see that as a good thing. Why? It gives us the opportunity to make sure our interiors are as fresh and inspiring as those sweet, sunny days when they do finally arrive!
In many ways, spring feels like a natural time to inject a new sense of freshness into our daily lives, starting with the design and décor of our living spaces. Here, our designers offer some handy tips for helping us do just that….
“As the warmer weather arrives, a brand new season beckons, and there is nothing more exciting than the prospect of hitting ‘refresh’ on your interior space and embracing a lighter, brighter canvas, “ says Claire designer at Ripon Interiors.
“Our goal is to help our clients to turn their homes into a beautiful space that works for their individual needs. This is done by creating balance in colour, furniture and architectural elements, as well as guaranteeing the client has enough storage, the correct lighting and correct use of space to live how they like to live in their home.”
So how can you incorporate spring-time inspiration into your interiors without feeling like you’re living in a garden centre?
Be ruthless and get organised
This is the first and most obvious home change that pops up every year, and with good reason. Spring Clean!
Less clutter helps to simplify life and create efficiency. Let’s start in the bathroom. Clean out the medicine cabinet and throw out expired toiletries. When considering a new bathroom design we always look at ways of dedicating space for all necessary items and improving storage including pull-out shelves on the bottom of vanity units for easy access to towels and toiletries. Look at ways chargeable items such as electric toothbrushes and shaving equipment can be stored out of sight.
An organised bathroom needs good storage solutions, and this Royal Match from Keuco is perfect for the job.
Another solution is to build one or more shower niches that can hold all bath products that everyone uses. Finally, guarantee there is enough light for applying makeup, shaving and reading that favourite novel whilst taking a long bubble bath! Add dimmers so that night time lighting is less harsh on your eyes on those midnight trips to the bathroom.
Enhance your wardrobes
Instead of just swapping your winter clothes for your warmer temperature options, why not swap your wardrobe too? With wardrobe design options for all spaces, sizes and requirements, you’re sure to find a wonderful home for your clothes.
Refresh your kitchen
After that bathroom de-clutter head into the kitchen. But, if you want to do more than just defrost the freezer and clear out your cupboards, a full blown remodel might be just the thing to breathe new life back into your kitchen.
With so many designs to choose from, a kitchen redesign can be overwhelming but it doesn’t have to be pricey, we can provide kitchens for all budgets that will give you a new look this spring. Your kitchen can be both stylish and practical. Cabinets are a crucial part of your kitchen, and it’s important to choose a style that will enhance the room’s décor, while providing ample storage.

Bold colours and playful decor
The ‘totally tropical’ trend is everywhere so don’t be afraid to experiment with using colour in your home this spring. Introduce bursts of colour to set off the season in style, opting for blues, pinks and greens that typically signify the start of spring. The age-old saying less is more doesn’t apply in this instance! Decorate in abundance to give your profusion of colour the best maximum impact.
We love collaborating with our carefully chosen suppliers such as Second Nature and Imperial Bathrooms to create functional and beautiful living environments that reflect our clients’ lifestyle whilst always using quality products and workmanship.
Our design experts and recommended fitters ensure that correct materials for every project are installed accurately and will perform effectively within the lifestyle environment of the client.
So, what better way to start off your Spring, knowing that your bathroom or kitchen project is in the right hands!
